My Tips for Picking a Course!!

I'm no expert but I am willing to give you some tips on picking a course to study. I'm currently studying my nutrition course through Torrens university.  I can't give you any information at the moment on diet and etc. because I haven't learned that, and I don't start my course until Monday. But I have some experience doing courses since I have a few under my belt. So, let's begin.

  • Price - Does the price of the course in my price range and can I afford it. Do they have government funding and if not, what payment options do they have available for me like afterpay or zippay.
  • Does the course cover a wide selection of topics, and can I have a career that is recognized in Australia?? Usually if it's a course like nutrition or psychology it should be recognized by the board or if it's a beauty course it should be a nationally recognized course that is recognized by the government. Similar to Tafe courses qualifications.
  • Is the course flexible can I fit it around my priorities like if you're a stay-at-home mum and have babies to look after. Or maybe you're working and need to fit your course around your work.
  • Is there rating good?? Now this isn't too important because there is a lot of fake reviews on the internet from bitter people. Take these reviews in with a grand of salt.
  • Do I get support? This is a good question because do you get scholarships, or maybe you need some mentoring or a tutor to help you through your studying. I know with Torrens university you get access to studiosty which allows you to get your assignments looked at before you submit it. So, if you need to make adjustments you can or you aren't on the right track, they can give you feedback and point you in the right direction.
  • Will I need to buy materials? Usually if you're studying online you won't have to buy books as there is an online library you can use. But saying that I have come across some courses that require you to purchase books for example lifestyle coaching course. If you're doing your course in person youll have to purchase books and supplies like pen, glue, highlighters, and etc. Most places don't need a uniform but if you're doing a uni course and studying on campus you'll have to purchase uniform especially if it's something like nursing.

Some websites I recommend if you want to study a course would be the following;
  • Torrens University
  • Deakin University
  • Curtin University
  • For beauty I recommend your local tafe
  • Australis College
  • Swinburne University

PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA SMOOTHIE

 banana-peanut-butter054

Here is one of my favourite smoothies to make that I have come up with and thought hmmm… peanut butter and banana together sounds like a great combination. Lucky I’m not the only person who has thought of these two together in a smoothie, so here is my take on the peanut butter and banana shake or smoothie. You can purchase all these items in your local supermarket health food section or just go to a health food shop for the wheat germ.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Bananas
  •  Crunchy Peanut butter
  • Light Milk or Almond milk (even coconut milk would work too)
  • Wheat Germ
  • Chia Seeds

Instructions:

  1. You will need a hand blender, old ice cream container or bowl, a spoon and a knife.
  2. Peel and chop two bananas up and add 2 spoons full of peanut butter into a bowl.
  3. Add a spoon of Wheat Germ and a spoon full of chia seeds, you can add more if you want.
  4. Add your milk into the bowl until it just covers the ingredients, and then blend it all up until banana and peanut butter is smooth.
  5. Serve and enjoy, can serve about 2 cups depending on the size of them!
  6. HINT: if you want to add a little something else to make it special sprinkle milo on top or any chocolate drink you like. If you want to make it even more interesting add some raw cacao into the mixer before blending it all together, this will give you a nice banana peanut butter chocolate smoothie.

VITAL GREENS VS BOUNCE

Here is something completely different to my last two post, something always loves to do is find great new healthy foods or drinks to try. I think we should be more passionate about health and strive to be the better us. Here is a review of the original vital greens before they changed the formula and bounce another green powder drink that can be used to provide more energy. Can also be used as a pre-work out drink if you're after something to give a bit more energy to work out.

First one up is Vital Greens Original Formula.

Con's:

1) Its a little bit pricey even for the small container is almost $40 so you can image the price for the big container.

2) If you put too much in a glass it can taste like grass

3) You can't put it into a smoothie. Well, I don't think you can as its only water-based product.

Pro's:

1) Last forever and easy to store in the fridge

2) Taste pretty good when you put the right amount into your water.

3) Taste could be little bit stronger since you can't really taste the Banana flavour

4) Quick and easy pick me up, if you feel like you're feeling sludgy from your fast-food binge.

Con's:

1) May be a bit pricey for people, I think for this size it was just under $50

Pro's:

1) The best green drink I have ever tasted, the berry flavour is delicious and very addictive.

2) Quick and easy to make and give you the best pick me up of energy.

3) The product itself smells like berries mixed with chocolate

4) A little goes a long way and unlike the vital green if you put too much in, it doesn't taste like grass.

5) Love that you get your money's worth, and the packaging is very clean and nice.

In my conclusions I think they are both good products and I like them both, but I think the Bounce Green Energy is far nicer than the Vital Green drink. Defiantly will be sticking to the Bounce product but will continue to finish what I have left of the Vital Green.

I suggest everyone to try these products out and judge it for yourself, both products are available at health food stores.
